About us
We are a local Dunedin company established in 2003 who have been in the industry for almost two decades, providing everything from preparing traffic management plans, consulting on traffic issues, obtaining approval from our local council or NZTA, setting up and implementing traffic management including the hire of any equipment required with depots in Dunedin and Oamaru.

TMC is well conditioned for someone coming into the industry with its training division. We are career paths focused and now offering apprenticeships for newcomers.

The Role
We are prepared to provide an apprenticeship scheme for the right applicant keen to work in traffic management long term as a career, we will pay for all training towards NZ Certificate in Temporary Traffic Management! Commitment from both parties is key here. No experience is needed.


If you are just starting your career you will start off as a TTM worker assisting our crews doing duties like stop/go and setting up sites, then move forward through to a TMO (Traffic Management Operative) where you set up small sites on the shoulder and also mind sites like alternating flows of sites and then after approx. 12 months or less depending on the learner work towards getting the Site Traffic Management Specialist qualification where you will be in charge of running TTM crews and in charge of safety on road work sites

This position really suits an outdoors person, who likes new scenery every day and meeting new contractors. A big part of the role is focused on safety, recognizing hazards, reporting, paperwork, and site safety briefings for those who enjoy meeting new faces, are methodical with paperwork, and enjoy communicating with fellow workers this position would be very suitable.
Personality is everything at TMC Ltd so we are seeking someone who is very team orientated, and down to earth. This is also very important as we deal with the public on a daily basis so a good temperament is a must.
